This privacy policy describes how the browser extension Clip for Google Tasks ("the Extension", "we", "us") accesses, uses, stores, and shares data — including Google user data — when you use it. The Extension is a third-party tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC. Google Tasks™ is a trademark of Google LLC.
Clip for Google Tasks is a client for Google Tasks. It lets you:
Everything the Extension does happens directly between your browser and Google, using an OAuth access token you grant. The Extension is operated entirely on your device.
With your authorization, the Extension uses the Google Tasks API
(https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tasks) to access the following
Google user data:
email / openid scope of your Google
sign-in (requested alongside the Tasks permission), with a no-network read of your
Chrome profile used first when available. It is used only to
build correct ?authuser= deep links so that links to your tasks open
in the right Google account when you use multiple accounts. The email address
itself is never transmitted to ozeo; only its coarse domain may appear in
anonymous analytics (see section 4). It is never used for advertising.
The Extension runs a small, read-only script on the pages you visit that reads only the page's URL (never its content) to show an on-page badge when one of your existing tasks already links to that page. This check happens entirely on your device. Beyond that, the Extension does not read the content of pages you visit unless you explicitly invoke it (by clipping a selection or using an on-page action), and it does not track or transmit your browsing history.
The only recipient of your Google user data (your task lists,
your tasks, and their content) is Google's own Google Tasks API
(googleapis.com). That data stays in your own Google Tasks
account, governed by
Google's privacy policy. It is
never sent to ozeo, and ozeo never sells, rents, or shares it
with any third party.
To understand how the Extension is used and to improve it, ozeo collects anonymous, opt-out usage analytics on its own server (an AWS-hosted endpoint in the EU — not a third-party analytics provider). Each event contains only:
clip_created,
dashboard_opened) and the extension version;

actual URL, page title, or the text you selected;
gmail.com, company.com), used only to distinguish
personal from organizational usage. The email address itself is
never transmitted.
These analytics never include your tasks, notes, labels, full URLs, page content, or your email address. They involve no advertising, no third-party trackers, and no cookies. You can turn them off at any time from the Extension's Options page ("Help improve Clip by sharing anonymous usage stats").
storage API:

Chrome installations by Chrome, via your Google account.

build the deep links described in section 2 and to derive the coarse account
domain for anonymous analytics (section 4). The email itself never leaves your
device.

re-scanning your tasks on every page.

duration of a session.
OAuth scope requested: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tasks. This is
the minimum scope required for the Extension's core functions, because it both
creates tasks (from web clips) and lets you view, edit,
and complete your existing tasks in the side panel. A read-only Tasks
scope would not allow creating, editing, or completing tasks, and Google offers no
narrower "create-only" Tasks scope. The Extension requests no other Google
API scopes.

ozeo retains no data related to your use of the Extension, because none of your data ever reaches our systems. All of your task data lives in your own Google account and is retained by Google under your control. Local caches on your device persist until you clear them or uninstall the Extension.
We may, in the future, offer optional paid features (the "Paid Plan"). The Paid Plan will be opt-in: you are never required to subscribe to use the free version of the Extension described above.
If and when you choose to subscribe to a Paid Plan:
These future features are not active at the time of this policy's publication. When they become active, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.
As a user located in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your data, data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority (in France: CNIL).
For the free Extension: because we do not store your data, these rights are exercised directly with Google. You can manage your Google Tasks data, revoke the Extension's access, and export or delete your tasks from your Google Account.
For the (future) Paid Plan: these rights are exercised by contacting us at contact@ozeo.io.
The Extension is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Extension's listing on the Chrome Web Store and via this page. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
Clip for Google Tasks's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
