Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 May 2026 · Effective date: 24 May 2026

This privacy policy describes how the browser extension Clip for Google Tasks ("the Extension", "we", "us") handles data when you use it. The Extension is published by ozeo (Jean-Sébastien Mancebo), 14 avenue de l'Europe, 77144 Montévrain, France. Contact: contact@ozeo.io.

The Extension is a third-party tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google LLC. Google Tasks™ is a trademark of Google LLC.

1. What the Extension does

The Extension lets you select text on any web page and send it to your Google Tasks account as a new task, with a "scroll-to-text" deep link pointing back to the exact passage on the original page.

2. What data the Extension accesses

The Extension only accesses data at the moment you explicitly trigger it by right-clicking selected text and choosing "Clip to Google Tasks". At that moment, it reads:

This data is used exclusively to build a Google Tasks task on your behalf, in your own Google Tasks account.

The Extension does not:

3. Data sent to Google

When you click "Clip", the task data (title, notes, optional due date, list selection) is sent directly from your browser to the Google Tasks API (googleapis.com), using an OAuth access token granted by you. The data ends up in your own Google Tasks account, governed by Google's privacy policy.

ozeo never sees this data and has no access to it.

4. Data stored locally

The Extension stores the following in your browser's chrome.storage.sync area (synchronised across your Chrome installations via your Google account, by Chrome):

This data stays inside your Google account and is never transmitted to ozeo.

The Extension also caches an OAuth access token (managed by Chrome's identity API) for the duration of a session. You can revoke this token at any time from your Google Account permissions page or from the Extension's Options page.

5. Future paid features

We may, in the future, offer optional paid features (the "Paid Plan"). The Paid Plan will be opt-in: you are never required to subscribe to use the free version of the Extension described above.

If and when you choose to subscribe to a Paid Plan:

These future features are not active at the time of this policy's publication. When they become active, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will reflect the change.

6. Permissions, justified

Permission Why
contextMenus To add the "Clip to Google Tasks" item to the right-click menu
identity To obtain an OAuth token to call the Google Tasks API on your behalf
storage To remember your default list and due-date offset preferences
https://www.googleapis.com/* To call the Google Tasks API

OAuth scope requested: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/tasks. This is the minimum scope required to create tasks in your Google Tasks account.

7. Data retention

ozeo retains no data related to your use of the free version of the Extension, because no data ever reaches our systems. All data lives in your own Google account.

For the (future) Paid Plan, we will retain your account data for as long as your subscription is active, plus the legally required retention period after termination (typically up to 10 years for billing records under French tax law). You can request deletion of your account at any time; non-mandatory data is then erased within 30 days.

8. Your rights under GDPR (RGPD)

As a user located in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

For the free Extension: because we do not store your data, these rights are exercised directly with Google. You can manage your Google Tasks data, revoke the Extension's access, and export or delete your tasks from your Google Account.

For the (future) Paid Plan: these rights are exercised by contacting us at contact@ozeo.io.

9. Children

The Extension is not directed at children under 16 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Extension's listing on the Chrome Web Store and via this page. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.

11. Compliance with Google API Services User Data Policy

Clip for Google Tasks's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
